On July 23, 2019, Mr. Yang Sheng, MBB of the Quality Research Institute of ACCU, held an open class exchange activity with relevant participants of NIO in the NIO Quality Academy on the topic "Fundamentals of Practical Engineering Statistics", and jointly discussed the statistical knowledge that engineers should know.

　　Mr. Yang Sheng started with a small survey in class and an experiment of "The World is Really Wonderful", and gradually led everyone to think and recognize the significance of statistics to life. Then, Mr. Yang popularized the concept, classification and effective methods of learning statistics for the participants, and also emphasized the five reasons for learning statistics.

　　Importance of statistics: 

　　The application of statistics in quality management made great contributions to the "third industrial revolution" represented by the United States, and was also the cornerstone of the rise of "Japanese enterprises". In the era of big data of industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence AI, engineering statistics is very important to both the competitiveness of enterprises and the development of employees. 

　　Engineering statistics is also the foundation of all statistical quality management tools, such as SPC, MSA, DOE, etc. "A journey of thousands of miles may only be achieved through accumulation of each single step". Only by laying a good foundation can we really control and use these tools.

　　In the process of explanation, Mr. Yang introduced relevant cases of statistics to let us have a deeper understanding of the importance of statistics. Mr. Yang's lecture has vivid cases and rich practical information, so that students can preliminarily understand the statistical knowledge that the engineer need to master.

　　At the same time, the students with strong thirst for knowledge showed great enthusiasm in learning and raised their hands to put forward their confusion on statistics. Under the patient solution of Mr. Yang, they gained a lot.
